Some names may be more familiar but I found the meaning or origin or some other aspect of the name made it worthy of inclusion here. Some of the best Unusual names




Yazgülü - Turkish, meaning "summer rose, from the elements "yaz" meaning summer and gul meaning "rose". Pronounced "YAHZ-gew-LEW".



Xicu - Asturian, a form of Francis, which means "Frenchman".

Zaia - Aramaic, Assyrian, and Syrian, a short form of the Hebrew name Isaiah, which means "Yahweh is salvation".
