In 2014 I featured a series of blog posts introducing you to 2,014 names. For the most part they were names that were brand new to me as well. Some names may be more familiar but I found the meaning or origin or some other aspect of the name made it worthy of inclusion here. You may love some of the names, you may hate some, but hopefully you enjoy learning about all of them.

Genealogy This Sunday

For anyone interested, I'm going to the BYU Family History Center this Sunday to do research. Feel free to join me.

  1. I had a dream about camping the other night. I was freezing and it was terrible. Now you know it really is a pyschological block for me when it comes to camping.

  3. That's cool. In fact, when I was researching last time I found that one of our ancestors had sat on a jury for a woman's mysterious death. She was found in a cave with her throat cut. And on a different line, a relative comes to visit family in a different state and gets murdered, by someone who had moved there from where they were all from originally, but he never gets punished or anything for lack of evidence. Two murder mysteries in one day of research. Wow. And of course, then there's the relative of ours to be ashamed of. He was a member of the Clan and helped linch an innocent black man. Later on in life the relative of ours commits suicide. I used to feel sorry for him, with all the personal turmoil he must have felt to do that, until I learned that he had done this awful thing. Then I felt that justice had been served in a way.
