Some names may be more familiar but I found the meaning or origin or some other aspect of the name made it worthy of inclusion here. Names at Year's End

GIRLS


Florilla - a woman born in New York state in the early 1800s

Harkey - a woman of Indiana from the 19th century

LaWanna - the name of a state representative where I live. Her nickname was Lou. She was 85 when she died so she was born in 1935. I'm curious where the name came from and how Lou came to be her nickname.

Thorena - a woman from Indiana born in the second part of the 19th century


BOYS


Babel - this was a 19th century fellow from Indiana
